General School Info


The Grant Academy is a private school located in Woodstock Georgia. We specializing in educating students with special needs including, but not limited to learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, Asperger’s, and cognitive disabilities. The students are in grades 1st through 9th and we are adding a grade every year. We use a whole brain approach to learning, so all learners’ needs are met. The academics are guided by students’ individualized education plan, so that we teach to the students’ levels and help them progress. All teachers at The Grant Academy are special education certified with the passion for teaching students with disabilities. At The Grant Academy, students needs truly come first.

School Hours

  1. Teacher hours:  7:30 am – 3:30 pm
  2. Student hours: 8:00 am -3:00 pm
  3. Teacher meetings are on Thursday afternoons at 3:15 pm

After School Program

  1. Hours 3:00-6:00
  2. The after school program will be $10 a day

Family Tours

The Grant Academy accepts new students on a rolling admissions basis. Please call the school at 770-926-7827 to schedule a tour.

Prospective Students (Shadows)

Prospective students can shadow our current students and experience a typical day at The Grant Academy. Come see how much your child will enjoy being part of our school.

Field Trips / Speakers

  1. Field trips will be scheduled monthly and are academically based.
  2. They are a great way for students to experience learning.

Birthdays / Holidays

  1. Students’ birthdays can be recognized. Snacks can be given out at snack time and we can sing happy birthday.
  2. Holiday parties: Holiday snacks can be passed out at snack time. This can be done for Halloween, winter holidays, and Valentines’ Day.
  3. Valentines or other treats can only be given out if they bring enough for the whole class.

School Closing for Weather

The Grant Academy will close for weather when the Cherokee County schools close for weather. We will post it on the Facebook page.

Fire, Tornado, and Emergency Procedures

  1. All staff are trained in emergency procedures.
  2. We have fire, tornado and other emergency drills regularly scheduled.
  3. In the event of a real emergency, we have procedures in place to make sure all students are safe.
  4. Safety is the number one concern for us at The Grant Academy.
